Assessor Qualifications including TAQA, Internal Verifier Awards

This qualification is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment. It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):

 • observation of performance in the work environment

 • use of others (witness testimony) 

• examining products of work 

• questioning the learner

 • discussing with the learner

 • looking at learner statements

 • recognising prior learning.

Candidates should be experienced Assessors and hold the A1 assessor award. Candidates need active support of the current lead Internal Verifier to allow contact with the centre’s appointed External Verifier.

The TQUK Level 4 Award in Observation of Teaching, Training and Learning (QCF) is regulated by Ofqual.

Qualification Purpose
This qualification has been developed for qualified and experienced teachers who do, or will, undertake formal observations of colleagues delivering teaching or training sessions. The qualification will develop skills and knowledge in undertaking teaching, training and learning session observations and post observation feedback processes. Individuals who already have observation experience will still benefit considerably from completion of this course and the achievement of the qualification because it provides recognition of their skills.

The primary outcome of the qualification is to confirm your occupational competence in a specific role within quality assurance in a vocational education setting.
TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (QCF) develop skills, knowledge and understanding to enable you to lead a team of internal quality assurers. It is therefore designed for internal quality assurers who wish to progress to leading a team.
